The aim of the military mission of unarmed OSCE observers is to visit the military facilities of the Armed forces of Ukraine and the Russian Black Sea fleet situated on the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to collect impartial data about the current state of affairs.

On the 6-th of March a group 38 unarmed international observers - the representatives of Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, USA, Turkey, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Estonia that were accompanied by journalists of prominent Ukrainian channels “1+1” “INTER CHANNEL” and “Channel Ukraine” were not allowed to enter the territory of the Autonomy.

The observers have passed the checkpoints in the Kherson region, however at the second checkpoint in Arm’ansk Crimea they were stoped by armed men without insignia. The observers were told that they need to have a permission from the new Crimean authority in order to travel through the territory of the Autonomous Republic. For this reason the group of observers didn’t manage to continue their journey and returned to hold consultations with the diplomatic representatives of their countries.
